As a co-owned, multi-family business, women have been at the helm from day one. Co-owner Nancy Deliso serves as General Manager, steering day-to-day operations, guest experience, brand strategy, and community engagement, while co-owner Wendy Charron leads our organizational financial management. Together, our leadership model demonstrates how collaborative, women-led oversight creates a thriving, sustainable winery in Loudoun County.

Nestled in the rolling hills of Virginia's Hunt Country, Cana Vineyards and Winery of Middleburg is a proudly woman-owned winery where award-winning wines and exceptional hospitality come together. From the vineyard and cellar to our events, hospitality, and tasting room teams, women are at the heart of everything we do.

Led by winemaker and vineyard manager Melanie Natoli, Cana has helped redefine excellence in Virginia wine. In 2017, Melanie became the first Virginia winemaker to be named Woman Winemaker of the Year at the International Women's Wine Competition, where her pioneering Sweet Vermouth - the first produced in Virginia - earned Best of Show Dessert/Late Harvest, Best of Class, and multiple Double Gold medals. In 2022, she made history again as the first woman to win the Virginia Governor's Cup in the competition's modern era with Cana's 2019 Unité Reserve. That same year, our 2019 Le Mariage earned a Gold Medal and a place in the Governor's Case among Virginia's top 12 wines.

Set on 43 scenic acres in Loudoun County, with eight acres of estate vineyards planted to Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Manseng, and Norton, Cana offers a true Virginia wine country experience. Established in 2022 by owner Julie Linker, Delve currently produces single varietal wines and blends from our Roussanne, Albariño, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc vines grown in our own Colombe Vineyard, nestled in the heart of Nelson County, in the Monticello wine region.

Julie is hands on in the vineyard, oversees the wine production, and provides tastings directly to guests at the vineyard. She would love to show you around, share her experiences as a woman in the Virginia wine world, and provide you with a unique tasting experience in the vineyard. We welcome guests to our tasting room on a daily basis. Only 5 miles from The University of Virginia and Monticello, we offer award-winning wines, housemade beers and ciders, and a delicious lunch and dinner menu. Good Spirit Farm is a family owned and operated winery, garden, guesthouse and gathering space. It’s also a long-held dream come to life. In 2021 Owners Mike & Luanne Gutermuth purchased a 42-acre livestock farm in Round Hill, Virginia after decades of thinking about, then planning to open a winery. The tasting room opened in March 2023.

Our awesome team includes fantastic women (Mike & Luanne’s daughter, daughter-in-law, almost daughter-in-law, and several other talented women) who are committed to providing a great experience for our guests. In addition to our award-winning wine, customers enjoy our warm hospitality and gorgeous vineyard & mountain views.

Horton Vineyards is a three-generational winery led by remarkable women. Our founder, Sharon Horton, continues to oversee the vineyard operations she began decades ago. Shannon Horton, the second generation, bridges the vineyard and the winery, ensuring the seamless connection between harvest and production. Caitlin Horton, the winemaker crafts exceptional vintages from the very grapes her grandmother nurtured, honoring our family’s legacy with every bottle.

James River Cellars was founded in 2001 by Mitzi Batterson, her husband and winemaker, James Batterson, and Mitzi’s father, Ray Lazarchic. What began as a family hobby grew into one of Central Virginia’s beloved wineries. After Ray’s passing, his daughters, Mitzi, Blair, and Tricia, became part of the next chapter, carrying forward the passion and traditions that helped shape James River Cellars.

Mitzi has been a driving force behind James River Cellars and a passionate advocate for Virginia wine. Beyond leading the winery, she has spent years supporting the Virginia wine community through leadership, education, and collaboration.

That same passion is reflected throughout James River Cellars today. Women hold leadership roles across the winery, including the Events Manager, all four Staff Leads, and many members of the tasting room team. They are the familiar faces guests meet when they arrive, guiding tastings, coordinating events, sharing wine knowledge, and creating the personal connections that bring visitors back.

Magnolia Vineyards, located just off scenic Route 211 in Rappahannock County, is devoted to creating well-balanced, approachable wines and providing a welcoming place to sip and escape the madness. We have been a member of Virginia Women in Wine since its inception. Tina is our co-owner/co-winemaker and Allison is our Tasting Room and Events Manager. We also have many part-time women Tasting Room Associates. We have participated in several events with VWW and are excited to meet new and returning guests as part of the Women in Wine Trail.

At Oakencroft Farm & Winery, women lead nearly every aspect of our business. Owner Dorothy Batten re-established Oakencroft with a vision of restoring the land through regenerative agriculture and protecting a beautiful piece of VA wine country. Head Winemaker Jessica Trapeni combines her expertise with a passion for crafting expressive, small-batch Virginia wines. Alongside them, a talented team of women leads our hospitality, events, and operations, creating a welcoming experience rooted in sustainability, stewardship, and community. At Southern Revere Cellars, women play an essential role in driving our vision, operations, and community connection. Co-owned and managed by Sheridan Grime and Paula Spencer alongside our husbands, our family-owned farm winery and brewery in Louisa, Virginia, was built on a foundation of family, friendship, and passion for craft beverages.

From our initial vine planting in 2019 to managing day-to-day business operations, Sheridan and Paula lead our team with ambition and heart. Our vineyard features estate-grown varietals including Chambourcin, Chardonel, Vidal Blanc, and Petit Verdot, lovingly tended and rooted in historic land named after Jack Jouett—the "Paul Revere of the South." We are also proud to partner with award-winning head winemaker Corry Craighill, who brings world-class experience, curiosity, and craft to our winemaking.
